In Loving Memory of Tanya Leah Temkin

Personal Story

Tanya Leah Temkin, 71, of Berkeley, California, passed away on February 10, 2022. She was ferociously brilliant and endowed with a mischievous wit. Tanya devoted her working life to those in need. She was the author of many grants that helped the distressed and disabled. Hiking, traveling with friends and maintaining her beautiful garden were her passions. Tanya was the daughter of the late Meyer and Annabelle Temkin, sister of David (Lois) Temkin.

Tanya was an active FORCE advocate for four years, contributing to research while participating in eight projects on behalf of the hereditary cancer community, including the Department of Defense, ConnectMyVariant Research, healthcare provider training and many more. On behalf of the FORCE community, we extend our deepest sympathies to Tanya’s family and friends.

Tanya shared with our community that she was "hoping for peace in my own life and in the wide world." May it be that she has found that peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all whose lives she touched, including so many in our hereditary cancer community. She will be greatly missed.
