About the Study

PreCharge is an approved, nationwide study funded by the National Cancer Institute. The purpose of this study is to test a digital program designed to help people affected by and who have not been diagnosed with cancer improve their mental and emotional well-being.

What the Study Involves

The PreCharge study is a pilot study designed to test a digital program which provides support and tools—through text messages and online activities—to assist people affected by and who have not been diagnosed with cancer take charge of their health and improve their mental and emotional well-being.

Those interested in participating in the study will be asked to complete a brief screening assessment to see if they are eligible. Eligible participants will be asked to:

  • Complete a more in-depth online survey that will take 10 minutes to complete.
  • Receive daily, personalized text messages for 1 month.
  • Complete as many online activities as they would like for 1 month.
  • Complete a final survey after 1 month of receiving text messages and using the online program. In that survey, participants will provide feedback on the daily messages and activities. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.

People who have an in one of these genes are eligible: APC, , , , , , , CDKN2A, CDK4, , , , , , , MUTYH, , , , , , ,

Eligible participants who complete the surveys will be paid for their time.

The PreCharge study team is looking to enroll people who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have not been diagnosed with cancer
  • Have an in one of these genes: APC, , , , , , , CDKN2A, CDK4, , , , , , , MUTYH, , , , , , ,
  • Are U.S residents
  • Speak and read English
This Study is Not Open To:

People with the following are not eligible:

  • Are under the age of 18
  • Do not have an
  • Have a cancer diagnosis
  • Are not a U.S. resident
  • Cannot speak and read English
