Parenting Adolescent-Aged Children While Managing a Parental Cancer Diagnosis – Share Your Story

About the Study

The study explores how families faced with a parental cancer diagnosis communicate, or why they choose not to communicate, with their children about the cancer diagnosis, treatments, and other related topics. At least one family member (diagnosed parent or non-diagnosed parent) is asked to participate, but more than one member can sign up to be interviewed.

If you are interested in participating, please follow this link to complete the screening survey to determine eligibility.

What the Study Entails

  • Interested individuals will complete a brief screening survey to determine eligibility (will take less than 5 minutes to complete)
  • If eligible, you will be asked to provide your contact information to schedule a telephone or video interview with the researcher. The interview will last between 45-60 minutes.
  • During the interview, you will be asked questions about how you communicate with your child about your cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Upon completion of the interview, you will receive a gift card to thank you for your participation.
