Volunteer Spotlight – Linda Cohen

John Dewey said “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” My journey with FORCE has certainly been both.

“My confirmation of the BRCA1 gene mutation led me to seek out educational materials, and that’s when I first encountered FORCE. My experience with this organization was life changing. I no longer felt alone or like I was floundering. FORCE helped me navigate my diagnosis of a BRCA1 mutation.

This is why I volunteer with FORCE. I want to be there for other people who struggle with their BRCA gene mutation.”

As a Research Advocate since 2012, Linda has gone above and beyond, helping with many research projects, including: Health Literacy Media, Exact Sciences Voice of the Patient and the DoD Ovarian Cancer Research Program Panel, among many others.
