Tumor Testing

There are many options for treating hereditary cancers. Choice of treatment can be personalized based on cancer type, stage and genetics.

Saving your tumor tissue

During a biopsy or surgical removal of a tumor, small tumor tissue samples are used for immediate diagnosis and staging, and are then stored in small blocks of wax and/or frozen indefinitely for subsequent testing. Just like a medical record, a patient can direct how these samples are used and where they are stored. For example, a patient may request that their tumor tissue be used for research or transferred to a new institution.
