We have developed a booklet specifically for Black and Latina women at high risk for breast cancer. This booklet is designed to provide information about breast cancer screening with MRI, and to help women decide whether or not this type of screening is right for them. Our goal is to understand if this booklet helps to improve women’s knowledge of breast MRI and make decisions that are aligned with their preferences and values.
This is a randomized controlled trial. If you are interested, a member of the research team will communicate with you by phone or email to confirm that you are eligible to participate and answer any questions you have about the study.
If you decide to participate in the study, you will be asked to review educational materials that will be sent to you in the mail. These materials will include either a letter or the booklet that we have developed. The materials that you receive will be decided randomly (like by the flip of a coin). You will also be asked to complete two surveys, one before you receive the materials and a second one a month later. We anticipate that this will take 1-2 hours over the course of one month. You will receive $10 for completing the first survey and $20 for completing the second survey.
