About the Study

The purpose of this study is to get participants’ opinions on the content, format, and design of educational materials that inform about the emotional consequences of undergoing a bilateral mastectomy. Eligible participants will be asked to complete a consent form and a brief survey, and to participate in a 1-hour Zoom interview. During the interview, we will ask participants to share feedback on some materials that we have designed. Participants will receive a $30 Amazon gift card in appreciation for their time.

What the Study Involves

Participants enrolled in this study will need to do the following:

Fill out an eligibility screener (5 minutes)
Sign an online consent form and fill out a brief questionnaire (5 minutes)
Participate in a 1-hour virtual interview (with the camera on)
Receive a $30 Amazon gift card in appreciation of their time

This Study is Open To:

Our eligibility criteria include:

Be female
Be between 18-50 years of age
Live in the United States
Be able to read and speak English
Have access to a laptop, computer or tablet, and
Have had a bilateral mastectomy in the last three years (2021 or later) OR are currently considering a bilateral mastectomy (e.g., due to a family history or genetic testing results such as BRCA, ATM, CHEK2)

This Study is Not Open To:

The study is not open to individuals who:

Are not female
Are not between the ages of 18-50 years old
Do not live in the United States
Cannot read and speak English
Do not have access to a laptop, computer or tablet
Have not had a bliateral mastectomy in the last three years (2021 or later)
Are not considering a bilateral mastectomy
