ABOUT Patient Powered Research Network

This study is open to:
  • Any person 18 or oder with a personal or family history of these cancers:
    • breast
    • ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal
    • prostate
    • pancreatic
    • melanoma
  • Any person who has tested positive for any of these gene mutations:
    • BRCA 1 or BRCA 2
    • PTEN or Cowden Syndrome
    • TP53 or Li-Fraumeni Syndrome
    • PALB2, ATM, CHEK2, BARD1, RAD51, BRIP1, CDH1, RAD50, NBN or other genes associated with increased cancer risk
  • Any person with blood relatives who have tested positive for any of the above genes
This study is not open to:

People with no personal or family history of cancer and no known inherited mutation in themselves or their family.

About the Network

The ABOUT Network is the first-ever patient-powered research registry created and governed by and forpeople affected by HBOC. ABOUT's goal is to improve outcomes for people affected by hereditary breast, ovarian, and related cancers (HBOC) through patient-powered research.

Patients enroll by filling out an initial health questionnaire and providing regular updates about their health.
