Claudia Joan Duncan
Claudia Joan Duncan
Dedication

In memory of Claudia Duncan. Loving mother and wife. Claudia fought ovarian cancer for ten years and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Personal Story

Claudia passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous ten year battle with ovarian cancer. Claudia was born in and raised in Bakersfield. She attended Bakersfield High School where she met her high school sweetheart Gary; they were married in 1969. Claudia and Gary co-owned Metal Tek metal fabrication company in Bakersfield. She had three children, overseeing their involvement in all kinds of activities as they grew up and began a tradition of creating regular memorable family gatherings. Family was everything to Claudia, and regular holiday and birthday celebrations have become traditions for the Jelmini family. She discovered travel late in her life and enjoyed traveling to Italy and Brazil to meet and socialize with her relatives. Claudia loved baking and cooking and is remembered for her numerous traditional recipes for which she was famous. Claudia was an avid sports fan and followed football at the high school, collegiate and professional level. Claudia enjoyed a wide circle of family, friends and acquaintances. If ever there was someone to strike up a conversation with, Claudia could start one and made many friends in the process.
