My mom passed away from newly diagnosed ovarian cancer in June. 2013. She had breast cancer 9 years earlier. Grandmothers and aunts and cousins have had both cancers.
Not knowing mom or I were at high risk for these cancers. Doctors failed to diagnose my mom's ovarian cancer until a week prior to her surgery when she passed away in the recovery room. Years ago my GYN told me I was not at high risk even though she knew my mom and cousin since they were alsompatients of hers. NbTrying to move forward with such grief in my heart as well as not having my mother with me to help me thru this (she has always been my rock) has been very difficult. My dad has stepped in to help although is grieving also. He is an amazing dad. My husband and step-daughter are also very supportive.
Switch GYN doctor a long time ago.
Force has helped me trememdously! I found a fantastic GYN oncologist at Brigham and Womens (Dr. muto) due to high recommendations from other Force members. Some nice Force members are helping me navigate my path toward my PBM now. And I do not feel alone. Force has given me knowledge as well as other people who lost manynloves ones and are in my same situation.
I want to Thank Force and all of the wonderful, caring, loving members that truly have helped me these past few, difficult, months.
