Paying for Genetic Services

Locate medical experts and find information on insurance coverage and financial assistance for risk management, treatment and follow up care.

Financial assistance for genetic services

A genetic counselor can help determine if you qualify for a financial assistance program to cover the cost of genetic testing. For more information on genetic counseling and how to find a genetic counselor, see our section on this topic.

Many laboratories offer low-cost genetic testing or financial assistance programs. Visit our lab page for our list of labs that offer genetic testing for hereditary cancer and those that offer financial assistance for testing. Different labs have different criteria, so if you are not eligible for assistance through one laboratory, you might consider contacting other labs to see if you qualify for any financial assistance program.
