Here you will find information on our local efforts to provide information, support, awareness, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.

FORCE Conference 2014

Join FORCE and 700 participants on June 12-14, 2014 at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott for the 8th Annual FORCE Conference! Joining FORCEs is the largest international conference designed by and for people with HBOC or a BRCA mutation. The program - held in partnership with Penn Medicine's Basser Research Center for BRCA - will present a wide range of topics and provide attendees opportunities to enroll in research, including Basser-funded studies. Strike Out Cancer Baseball Game  April 23, 2014  5:00 pm

The game will support the fight against hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, and help to raise awareness about FORCE, Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered, a national non-profit organization.  Mary Orloff, Brandi Forbes and Jodi Rosen are volunteer Outreach Coordinators for Cincinnati/NKY FORCE.  There will be t-shirt sales, a split the pot raffle, and a silent auction for autographed pink baseball hats.  All proceeds will benefit FORCE and its mission.

FORCE's mission includes education, awareness, research, advocacy, and support.  Approximately 2.3 million women in the U.S. carry a BRCA gene mutation for breast and ovarian cancer because of their family history.  Approximately one million people in the U.S. carry a BRCA gene mutation or other hereditary factor that puts them at extremely high risk for cancer.  FORCE programs empower people of all ages to take charge of their health and face their cancer risk, saving lives across the gernerations.  If you have questions, or would like more information about FORCE, please contact Mary Orloff at maryofacingourrisk@yahoo.com.  FORCE's website is www.facingourrisk.org  You may find more information at www.facebook.com/FORCECincinnatiNKY.

FORCE exists to improve the lives of individuals and families facing hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Local area FORCE is holding our monthly get-together and we hope you can join us!

Learn from other people who are navigating the hereditary cancer path. Help someone else by sharing your story. This is a great chance to meet some local area FORCE members and/or catch up with those you’ve met at previous get-togethers.
