To my sister and friend, Cindi, who courageously battled both breast and ovarian cancer for over 8 years. You left us a week ago today, but you'll always be here in our hearts!

Personal Story

My sister was a science teacher...always presenting ideas and information to her 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes in a unique,fun way. A few days before she passed, a student now entering college called to tell her he was going to be a doctor and wanted her to know. She touched everyone she met like that....always wanting to do something for everyone else...even when she was ill, she cared & visited sick friends & family, talked to the lonely, gave to the needy.
In the tradition of a great teacher, Cindi wanted the word to get out about the BRACA gene test and this website. Unfortunately, when her breast cancer was detected over 8 yrs ago she was NOT informed of this test which would of given her information and enabled her to make smart choices about her body and eliminating the possibility of getting ovarian cancer. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER....and power is what we need to fight this horrible, long, agonizing disease. Please read info, ask questions, be informed. Give yourself the chance that my sister was never given.
