Raise Your Voice
Welcome to Raise Your Voice - a two-month campaign to drive awareness of
hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.
This campaign is for anyone affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, including women and men with BRCA mutations, people with a family history of cancer, and breast and ovarian cancer survivors and previvors who have faced hereditary cancers.
The focal point of our campaign is the declaration of September 26-October 2, 2010, as HBOC Week and September 29 as Previvor Day.
Join Us and Raise Your Voice by:
- Print our 8 1/2 x 11 poster commemorating HBOC Week and Previvor Day and share it with your health care team; ask your doctor or genetic counselor to support in their facility; and place one at your bulletin board at work.
- Sharing your voice and posting your story and photos on our brand new HBOC Virtual Wall
- Liking us on Facebook. Help us grow our numbers and spread awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer throughout Facebook. (And look for some special content during the months of September and October.)
- Learn about and promote Previvorship. Previvor was coined in 2000 after a challenge from a community member who "needed a label". Read more about the word, its meaning and its growth from a message board post to a widely used term in our Thoughts from FORCE blog and read about the original poster as she shares where she is today and her thoughts on Previvor Day
- Read and share: three wonderful books feature powerful Previvors at their center:
