Ashlea Braun is a Clinical Research Dietitian at the Ohio State University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences where she is also pursuing her doctoral degree. She is studying the impact of comprehensive garden-based biobehavioral interventions on cancer survivors for the prevention of cancer recurrence and cardiometabolic disease. This has included the utilization of motivational interviewing to achieve clinically meaningful health outcomes. As part of her doctoral research, she hopes to expand upon her work to understand changes in gut microbiota following completion of lifestyle interventions and how these changes moderate disease risk. Prior to her current work, Ashlea worked as a dietitian in various settings, including the Mount Carmel Health System and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.  In part for her work in patient care and experience in clinical research, she was recognized as an Ohio Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in 2017.

Emily Hall is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and doctoral student in the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences PhD program at The Ohio State University. Her primary research focus is on the impact of comprehensive biobehavioral garden-based lifestyle interventions on health outcomes of cancer survivors. As part of this research, she is interested in the identification of biomarkers of dietary intakes and measures of compliance to evidence-based guidelines for dietary patterns. She has been recognized both locally and nationally for her contributions to this work, and she was recently awarded an Outstanding Abstract at her profession's annual conference, the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo. Prior to beginning her graduate education and becoming a dietitian, Emily worked in an acute myeloid leukemia lab at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, also at The Ohio State University.
