I am a mother of Five and 55 years old. I have lost 2 sisters with breast cancer. Also a cousin with Ovarian Cancer. I am positive for Brca 2, as is my daughter, brother, and 2 sisters and a cousin. I was devastated to say the least. After going thru eight rounds of chemo and 37 treatments of radiation and several reconstruction surgeries and has reaked havoc on my body. But I learned to stay positive and enjoy each day as it came. I live everyday to the fullest. I am blessed to be in remission at this point. I love spreading the word about the disease and keep people aware of getting there mammograms and checking themselves daily. I love Life..........
Accepting the disease and having to live with everyday. Feeling every ache and pain that comes along. Wondering if has came back.
I would have gotten MRI's instead. because mammograms did not work for me.
It has helped me to know that so many people are in my shoes. There are so many treatments and choices out there. Makes me aware of new discoveries.
It is so difficult to go thru. I would not wish it on anyone. We have to ban together and find the cure. I do not want to suffer anymore or have anyone else to.
