Session: Screening after oophorectomy and mastectomy

This 90-minute concurrent session will focus on the approaches to screening for breast cancer and
primary peritoneal cancer after mastectomy and oophorectomy.
The speakers will present:
- residual risk for breast cancer after mastectomy/reconstruction
- use of MRI to determine silicone implant condition
- ways to detect breast cancer in residual tissue after mastectomy
- follow-up care after mastectomy
- what to do when a lump is found by you or your doctor
- residual risk for primary peritoneal cancer after oophorectomy
- current and emerging options for monitoring for primary peritoneal cancer
This session is appropriate for:
- survivors and previvors with a BRCA mutation or hereditary cancer in the family who have undergone
mastectomy and/or oophorectomy
- spouses, partners, and significant others of survivors, previvors with a BRCA
mutation or hereditary cancer in the family
- health care providers who provide care to survivors or previvors
- social workers/mental health care professionals who treat survivors, previvors
or their spouses or partners
