Session: Breast reconstruction question and answer panel #2

This 90-minute concurrent session will allow participants to ask panelists questions about different options for breast reconstruction after mastectomy and will also focus on surgical revisions. Panelists will answer questions about:
- benefits and limitations of each type of reconstruction option
- immediate and delayed reconstruction
- flap and implant reconstruction
- expanders followed by implant exchange surgery vs. direct-to-implant options
- recovery time and expectations after reconstruction
- possible complications with flap reconstruction
- immediate and long-term complications with reconstruction and ways to repair surgical complications
This session is appropriate for:
- women who are considering or need to undergo mastectomy and immediate
or delayed reconstruction
- family, friends, relatives, and loved ones of women who need to undergo mastectomy
and/or reconstruction
- health care providers who care for women who need to undergo mastectomy and/or
reconstruction
- mental health care professionals who care for women who need to undergo
mastectomy and/or reconstruction
