Session: Sexuality and body image

Speaker: Sharon Bober, PhD

This 90-minute concurrent session will focus on the effects of cancer or hereditary risk on body image and
sexuality. Dr. Bober will address:

• the physical and emotional challenges that can affect self-image for survivors and previvors after surgery
• how surgery, treatment, or menopause can effect sexuality in previvors, survivors, and their partners
• options for improving sexuality and body image
• discussion for problem-solving options and interventions to address these challenges
  

This session is appropriate for:

• breast cancer survivors, ovarian cancer survivors, previvors
• women with a BRCA mutation or hereditary cancer in the family
• spouses, partners, and significant others of survivors, previvors with a BRCA
  mutation or hereditary cancer in the family
• health care providers who provide care to survivors or previvors
• social workers/mental health care professionals who treat survivors, previvors
  or their spouses or partners
