Rebecca Meyer Carr is a 10+ year survivor of stage III breast cancer and a carrier of the BRCA1 genetic mutation. As one of the founding co-chairs of the Philadelphia area chapter of FORCE, Rebecca quickly became involved and helped run support sessions, attended national conferences and has enjoyed every moment of giving back as others were there to give to her.

Rebecca is a social worker who has worked in the fields of women’s advocacy, Jewish nonprofits, and alumni relations. Currently she is the director of the Fundraising and Patient Services department of HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that helps transplant and catastrophically injured patients fundraise for their medical expenses.

In addition to volunteering with FORCE, Rebecca has served as a helpline counselor for Living Beyond Breast Cancer and has raised money for both FORCE and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She authored a chapter entitled A New Routine, A New Me in the book Life, Faith and Cancer, edited by Rabbi Douglas J. Kohn.

Rebecca has been married for more than 20 years to Ken, and is the mother of Ari and Hanna. They live in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, along with Rafi, the three-legged wonder dog.
