My journey

My grandmother died from ovarian cancer at 52, my father passed from lung cancer at 58, my uncle passed from stomach cancer soon after my father passing. My Uncles daughter (my cousin) was dx with breast cancer and BRCA 2 + . She informed me and I tested positive as well. We are 2 of the only 3 females on that side of the family. No one else has went through the testing in the family. I have 2 daughters that are preteen and teen. My 3rd, youngest, is a boy. I have been married for 16 years. I am a high school teacher a Zumba instructor.

My hysterectomy was uneventful and I am now preparing for my PBM w/ expanders.

The hardest part of my journey

My father passing and knowing I have 2 daughters that may have the gene mutation as well.

If I could do it over again

No, I don't believe so. I do not have any regrets.

My participation with FORCE

Yes, I feel that I am among friends that are going through the same struggles I am. Only the FORCE sisters truly know what I feel and experience.
