My journey

I am 40 years old and have tested postive for the BRCA1 gene. I have not been diagionsed with any form of cancer yet. I had my ovaries out in 2007 and continue to doing many studies @ MD Anderson.

The hardest part of my journey

The hardest part of my journey is watching my Mom being diag. with breast cancer for a 2nd time. This is why I want to try to participate in many studies. Someday I know we will find a cure for cancer!

If I could do it over again

I would not change a thing. I hope to continue to volunteer and do what I can to help find a cure.

My participation with FORCE

FORCE has brought attention to genetic cancer, something no one had heard of 5 years ago. So many people are getting early detection and so many lives have been saved.

Other thoughts

FORCE is awesome! It is nice to have people understand what you are going through. I try to share my experiences, maybe this will help someone in the future.
