Add your VoiceIf you'd like to add your own story to our Voices of FORCE pages, please complete our Voices of FORCE form. My journeyWe have a long family history of breast cancer in my family. On my fathers side, my great, great grandmother died in her late 30's of breast ca. Her daughter also passed in her 60's of breast ca. My aunt just recently passed last year and was diagnosed at 49. On my mothers side, my aunt currently has breast cancer and has been fighting it for several years. Also, my other aunt has had thyroid and uterine cancer. We also have colon ca in the family too. The hardest part of my journeyFinding out the results and knowing that my sister, who was also just tested, may be positive also. Hopefully, she will be negative, but either way, we will support and be there for one another. If I could do it over againI would definately get tested again. I feel that knowing is better than waiting around to see if something happens. I would rather take action and prevent it rather than take the chance of getting cancer. I've seen relatives go through it and I'm more scared of getting cancer and dying, then having a surgery. |
