Passing of the Torch from Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to Breast Cancer Awareness Month®
This Fall FORCE passed the torch from Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to Breast cancer Awareness Month in three cities! Passing of the Torch is our signature event for 2006.
Passing of the Torch is an event that highlights the hereditary link between breast and ovarian cancer, honors cancer survivors and those at high risk, remembers those whose lives have been lost to cancer, and recognizes families that have been affected by cancer. A ceremonial flame was passed from an ovarian cancer survivor to a breast cancer survivor marking the transition from Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
If you could not attend any of the events you can still show your support by making a donation to FORCE. Your donation will help raise awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and help FORCE save lives!
Each Passing of the Torch event featured entertainment, local experts speaking about hereditary cancer and breast and ovarian cancer, pre-vivors, and survivors who shared their stories of support and hope.
You can view a video with footage and photos from our Passing of the Torch events in Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, and Boston.
Thank you for all who supported these events by participating, attending, sponsoring, or selling luminaries.
